Texas Lutheran gearing up to host 2019 SCAC Volleyball Championship

SEGUIN, Texas -- The 2019 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship is coming to Texas Lutheran on Nov. 8-10, and the Bulldogs will be one of the six teams competing for the conference title.

The 2019 SCAC Volleyball Championship website has been launched. The page contains visitor information regarding the event, hosted by the Bulldogs in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium (Jim Shuler Court).

Game schedules, the tournament bracket and information related to the six participating teams can be found on the championship website.

Live video and stats will be provided for every match. Video and stats links will be available on TLU's web streaming portal All matches will be streamed free of charge.

Trinity University and Colorado College both enter the tournament nationally ranked (sixth and eighth respectively), and Trinity has already locked up the top seed to this year's event with a 17-1 league mark.

Colorado College can equal Trinity's 17-1 mark and earn a share of the SCAC regular season title with a victory over Johnson & Wales in the conference finale for both teams on Friday.

Trinity clinched the tiebreaker over Colorado College for the No. 1 seed by virtue of a better set differential (total) in the two matches played against the third-seeded team, Southwestern University.

University of Dallas defeated Austin College last night, 3-1, in Sherman to create a three-way tie for fourth place in the conference standings between the two and host TLU.

Dallas earned the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament by virtue of a better head-to-head mark with the other two. Once the three-way tie was broken, Austin College earned the No. 5 seed over TLU after its head-to-head sweep of the Bulldogs this season.

Championship apparel for the 2019 SCAC Volleyball Championship will be available for sale on-site only in Seguin.
