SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs collected 16 hits in a 12-10 non-conference home victory Tuesday over DeSales (Pa.).
The Bulldogs scored in each of the first four innings. TLU scored a pair of runs in each of the first, second and third innings and then erupted for six runs in teh fourth.
TLU improved to 12-4 overall and to 7-0 at Katt-Isbel Field.
DeSales, also the Bulldogs, dropped to 1-1.
Andrew Femath went 4-for-5 for TLU and drove in three runs. He also scored two runs and stole two bases.
The TLU Bulldogs also received a 3-for-5 performance from Ryan Nokelby, who also drove in a run and scored twice. Jason McGill, Chris Green, Darwin Lucero, and Brian Wheaton each recorded two hits as well.
McGill went 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored and two RBI.
Freshman right-hander Sean Kistler picked his first collegiate victory. The Conroe native tossed 2-2/3 innings of shutout baseball. He struck out three and allowed just one hit.
Tom Hembree pitched the ninth and notched his third save.
Andrew Feher went 4-for-5 for DeSales, and Carson Slonaker was 2-for-5 with four RBI.
Dan Gayeski took the pitching loss for DeSales and dropped to 0-1.
TLU returns to Katt-Isbel on Friday and Saturday for a three-game American Southwest Conference series against McMurry. Friday's single game starts at 2 p.m. Saturday's 7-inning/9-inning doubleheader starts at noon.
