TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY

CONCAN, Texas – Texas Lutheran received a first-round leading score of 83 from Angela Aufderhaar to secure a tie for second after round one Monday at the TLU ConCan Intercollegiate Classic.

At The Club at ConCan, Aufderhaar (Seguin/Seguin) posted a 39 on the front nine and a 44 on the back nine of the par-72, 5,808-yard course.

Aufderhaar leads the tournament by two shots over LeTourneau teammates Leslie Lee and Candice Nishimura, who posted 85s on Monday.

The Bulldogs’ Carly Hansen put up an 87 on Monday. The senior from Coleraine, Minn. (Greenway H.S.) is tied for fourth.

TLU’s Jessica Villarreal (San Antonio/Stevens), Sarah Thompson (Beaumont/Hardin-Jefferson), and Sarah Black (Needville/Needville) sit in 15th and a tie for 16th, respectively. Villarreal carded a 100, and Thompson and Black each shot 101.

McMurry leads the tournament with a team score of 368. McMurry put four players in the top 10 and all five players in the top 11. Monica Harris paced McMurry with an 88 on Monday.

TLU and LeTourneau are tied for second at 371. Schreiner and Texas A&M International hold down fourth and fifth, respectively, with team totals of 376 and 427.

The tournament concludes Tuesday at ConCan Country Club with a final 18 holes.
