TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY

DELHI, La. – The Texas Lutheran men’s golf team brought home a fifth-place finish from the Mississippi College/Louisiana College Spring Invite, which concluded Tuesday at Black Bear Golf Course.

TLU posted a pair of 335s over the two-day tournament and recorded a final team total of 670.

The University of Texas at Tyler won the tournament with a team total of 613 after rounds of 307 and 306.

TLU sophomore Chris Hyten tied for eighth. Hyten followed Monday’s 75 with an 85.

Erik Peterson tied for 14th after an 86 and a 77. Alex Mireault, Dither Castro, and Jacob Mock placed 29th, 31st, and 34th, respectively.

Jacob Walsh of Texas-Tyler won the individual title with a two-day total of 145. Walsh led wire-to-wire with a first-round 70 and a final-round 75.

TLU’s next event is the TLU ConCan Invitational, set for March 15-16 at the ConCan Country Club in ConCan, Texas. The TLU women and men’s golf teams will be in action at the tournament.
