KERRVILLE, Texas – The Texas Lutheran women’s golf team opened the Schreiner Shootout on Monday with a team score of 370.

The Bulldogs hold fifth place entering Tuesday’s final round of 18 holes.

At Comanche Trace Golf Course, the Bulldogs received scores of 88 and 89 from seniors Carly Hansen and Angela Aufderhaar. Hansen sits in eighth, and Aufderhaar is in 12th.

Kristen Davenport and Kelsey Coburn of Southwestern are first and second after round one. Davenport leads after her 79 on Monday. Coburn carded an 83.

TLU’s Sarah Thompson and Jessica Villarreal posted scores of 95 and 98, respectively, and Sarah Black opened the tournament with a 114.

Southwestern leads the team standings with a first-round total of 340. McMurry (355), Schreiner (358) and Trinity (369) have positions second, third and fourth.

Texas-Tyler (372), Texas-Brownsville (389), and Texas A&M International (453) round out the field.
