Andy Padron joins his father, TLU Head Football Coach Danny Padron, on the coaching staff of the Bulldogs.
Padron is a 2007 graduate of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where he starred as a quarterback and helped UMHB to the NCAA Division III National Championship game in 2004. Padron was a part of Cru football squads that went 41-8 from 2003 to 2006 and won four American Southwest Conference Championships.
Padron was an Academic All-ASC selection in 2004, 2005, and 2006, and he was named the Cru's Most Unselfish Player in 2005. He also was a multiple honoree on the university's Dean's and Provost's lists for academic excellence. Padron was also a Unity Council Member in 2006.
Padron came to TLU after serving as an assistant coach under his father at O'Connor High School in San Antonio. Padron was the quarterbacks coach at O'Connor. He also taught algebra and counseled high-risk and high-needs students.
Padron is a 2003 graduate of Tom C. Clark High School in San Antonio. He played quarterback for Clark while his father was the offensive coordinator.
Padron has worked with Xtreme Speed as a speed and agility trainer and as a "Huddle Leader" for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He has also worked as a youth and high school baseball umpire, as a football camp instructor, and as a private quarterback instructor.
